Chelsea football club head for pre-season camping without one of their academy graduates Trevoh Chalobah, to the surprise of many.
The decision to leave behind the defender out of the tour of the United States has recieved unfavourable comments and condemnation from many Chelsea followers despite the player’s impressive performance at the tail-end of the 2023-24 league season.
The academy graduate defender, has been put up for sale by the club for the past twelve months looking at the enormous profit that could be raised from Chalobah’s sale in the transfer market, but the 25-year-old still remaine committed to his mother club with the hope of fighting for a position in the club ahead of next season despite been left out.
With Chalobah’s commitment to the club, judging from the long-term injury he sustained and his come-back to fight for the club when times were tough for the Blues during last season alongside his impact on the squad and his popularity among fans, the centre-back still did not make the final cut for Enzo Maresca’s 28-player tour squad to the States.
Chelsea are well-stocked at centre-back, with the new signing of Tosin Adarabioyo who comes in to compete with the likes of Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi.
The decision made to leave Chalobah at home, with those in charge at Stamford Bridge, send’s a clear message that the versatile defender is no longer wanted, the news has been widely slammed by Chelsea fans, who have accused the decision-makers of flagrant disrespect towards a loyal and committed servant to the club.
