PARIS 2024: EXPERIENCED GHANAIAN CYCLIST, VOLUNTEER’S IN PARIS OLYMPIC

Sunyani based National cyclist Anthony Boakye, has been chosen as one of the nine (9) young incredible and talented sports athletes to volunteer in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The finest Cyclist Anthony Boakye got selected by the French Embassy to represent Ghana in the Volunteering program in Paris-France.

According to Fofogan Duku, a representative from the French Embassy, the Paris 2024 games is a continues adventure for Anthony, in the spirit of volunteerism for the young Ghanaian as he joins the Paris 2024 volunteering program.
He will be hosted in Caen (France) by the Ufolep association, for a one-year International Solidarity Volunteering (VSI) mission.

Duku stated that, “Boakye is Discipline and his love for the sports has earned him this great opportunity from the French embassy. ‘Bravo’ to him for his commitment and passion for sports, and we wish him an excellent mission and an unforgettable experience in France”.

Anthony Boakye, the France Volontaires’ ambassadors for Paris 2024 was invited to the Quai d’Orsay] as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Volunteering Program. He also had the honor of representing Ghana during a meeting organized by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, at the Quai d’Orsay.

The meeting brought together volunteers mobilized for Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné, the General Secretary Anne-Marie Descôtes, the team of France Volontaires represented by the Managing Director Yann Delaunay, and representatives of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Committees.

The French Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Jules-Armand Aniambossou, delivered warm speeches to celebrate the strong relationship between the France and Ghana.

Meanwhile, Hon. Sports Minister Mustapha Yussif seized the opportunity to acknowledge the France Diplomatiè, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, French Embassy in Ghana/Ambassadè de France au Ghana, Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), UFOLEP Nationale, Ministry of Youth & Sports-GH, National Youth Authority, Ghana Olympic Committee and Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration, Ghana.

Hon. Yussif, congratulated Anthony Boakye for his commitment and the opportunity to represent Ghana at the international stage and also wished him and others well as the Olympic Games kicks in.

However, Anthony Boakye is an award winning top Cyclist from Ghana. He won the prestigious SWAG Awards as a two-time best Cyclist of the year. He has also won big honours from other African countries making himself and the country proud.
