Key African coaches and tacticians are attending the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Coaches Symposium currently underway in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The symposium which kickoff on Thursday 12 September 2024, was put together by CAF in partnership with FIF Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (“FIF”) with a Legacy discussion by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe, Ivorian Government and FIF President Yacine Idriss Diallo.
Ghana will be represented by Black Stars coach Otto Addo who has recently been under intense criticism from Ghanaians for his poor start to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after losing at home to Angola and playing 1-1 draw to Niger on a neutral ground in less than a week.
The two day event from 12-13 September, will see Coaches from 42 African Member Associations and global experts from FIFA and EUFA will reflect on the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023.
Top four coaches from countries which got to the final and semi-final of the just ended Africa Cup of Nations tournament, that is, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria as finalists and South Africa and Democratic Republic of Congo as semi-finalists will join their peers to deliberate on a number of topical issues.
The Symposium outlines a comprehensive program, including insightful sessions, engaging panel discussions, and presentations by leading experts in the field of football.
Meanwhile, highlights of the event will include an in-depth analysis of the strategies that defined TotalEnergies CAF AFCON 2023 with a special focus on the masterminds behind the tournament, and a forward-looking discussion on the future of African football as a whole.
