OTTO ADDO CAUTION OLDER AND SENIOR PLAYERS IN BLACK STARS AS YOUNG AND NEW ONES SHOWS HUNGER TO TAKE OVER

Black Stars coach, Otto Addo has expressed his utmost satisfaction on the attitude of new and younger players called up for the international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda.

The returnee coach praised the attitude of his players especially the young ones as the team prepares for another international friendly game against Uganda today.

The senior national team have been camping in Marrakesh, Morocco for the FIFA international break, as Otto Addo tends to builds a stronger side ahead of the World Cup qualifiers in June judging from the team’s abysmal performance at the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast a few months ago.

The former Borussia Dortmund scout coach, invited some new players to beef up team following the withdrawal of Inaki Williams, Mohammed Kudus, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku and Thomas Partey for the two friendlies.

However, according to the coach in an interview said, “Not really impressed but may be surprised a little bit. I didn’t expect this, especially with the young players playing at a high level, really, really good,” said the coach.

He continued, “I think we made a good choice in bringing them into the camp. We are already preparing for the future and this is really, really good to see that the young guys coming up are knocking on the door to enter the national team.

“The players who have been there for a longer time have to be aware because the young guys are hungry, they are good, they are developing and like I said this is what will make us all better.”

The Black Stars will be hoping to make amends this afternoon against Uganda after losing 2-1 to Nigeria in the earlier friendly game played in Marrakech, Morocco a few days ago.
