
SUCCESS ACHIEVED BY ARMWRESTLING AT AFRICAN GAMES RESULT IN THE PROMOTION OF TWO AND RECRUITMENT OF FIVE GOLDEN ARMS PULLER’S INTO GHANA IMMIGRATION SERVICE

The excitement, the hype, the joy and the honours brought about by Armwrestling during and after the African Games has also resulted in a life changing opportunities for some Golden Arms pullers, days after the games came to an end.
This came to light after the Ghana Immigration Service made a decision to promote two of their staff who are already Armwrestlers and also recruit five pullers of the Golden Arms who excelled during the just ended Africa games held in Ghana
The five pullers before the games were all unemployed but through the ingenuity and the lobbying skills of Charles Osei Asibey who is the the president, founder of Ghana Armwrestling Federation as well as president of Armwrestling Federation of Africa, has led to this life changing opportunities for these pullers based on their excellent achievement at the African Games by winning gold medals for the nation.
This has been the long term vision of the federation president Charles Osei Asibey to use Sports as tool for job creation opportunity for the teaming youth.
The five pullers who were considered for the job offer at the Ghana Immigration Service include Mary Quaye, Blessed Nunoo, Godwin Sackey, Rashida Abass and Mariam Karid Moro.
However, Ghana Immigration Service has also promoted two of it’s regular staff thus, Immigration Control Officer (ICO) Nii Otoo Larkyne and Assistant Insp. Officer Edward Y. Asamoah who are already members of the Golden Arms as coach and captain respectively.
The Ghana Armwrestling Federation through the Golden Arms raised the flag of Ghana high by winning 41 medals to push Ghana to 6th position on the medal table at the recently held African Games dubbed ‘ACCRA2023’.
