
JOHN ANSAH DEFEAT ISAAC KOOMSON TO GHALCA CHAIRMANSHIP RACE IN A KEENLY CONTESTED ELECTIONS

Mr John Ansah, former Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has been elected as the new Chairman of the association.
Ansah will spearhead the association following the conclusion of the elections held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Accra Sports Stadium, as he takes over from the outgoing Chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo.
The former vice chairman and Isaac Wilberforce Koomson were the two parties who contested for the Chairmanship position in this year’s elections.
Ansah polled 96 votes out of the total 132, while Koomson got 35 of the votes with one being rejected.
For the Vice Chairman position, Phyllis Marku polled 94 votes to Nana Amankwah’s 34 votes while Gabriel Godwin was voted to become the Regional Football Association representative ahead of Isaac Gasper.
Fred Tindan also won the Premier League representative position ahead of Joseph Nkoo and Rahman Yakubu.
Other positions include the treasurer position, which went to Patrick Martey Boye as he retains the position for a second term.
Division One League Representative went to Eric Opoku whilst the Regional Clubs Representative was given to Gabriel Godwin Kwao.
In the Women’s Premier League Representative, ASP Naomi F. Abdulai (CEO of Prisons Ladies) wad given the node to steer the affairs of women agenda.
