
Vice President of Ghana Support 47th SWAG Awards

Dr Mahmoud Bawumia, vice president of the republic of Ghana has contributed financially to support the 47th SWAG Awards night slated on the 28 of January, 2023 at the International Conference Center in Accra.
The Vice President, donated an amount of 50,000 Gh.Cedis to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), to support this year’s edition of the SWAG Awards.
Aide to the Vice President, Tamimu Issah, presented a cash cheque to Kwabena Yeboah president of SWAG and Charles Osei Asibey the general secretary on Wednesday.
Providing details to the total amount, Dr. Bawumia is donating 10,000 Gh.Cedis each to winners of the two award categories; that’s the Female Footballer of the Year and the Sports Journalist of the Year, with the remaining 30,000 Cedis going to SWAG to assist in the organization of the awards.
Similar donation was made last year by the Vice President Dr Bawumia where he supported the 46th SWAG Awards with a 50,000 Gh.Cedis, where 10,000 GH Cedis each was presented to the Female Footballer of the Year and the Sports Journalist of the Year.
Mr Kwabena Yeboah-President of SWAG after receiving the donation from the vice president’s aide, expressed the Association’s gratitude to Dr. Bawumia for his support, once again.
The SWAG Awards is held annually to honour distinguished Ghanaian sportsmen and women who excelled in the year under review. This year, over 40 athletes are expected to be honoured
at the International Conference Center next weekend.
