The solo win from Driss El Alouani turned into a shocker as the Moroccan “undertaker” Driss El Alouani silenced all the under 23 and Elites to win today’s race ahead of Russian Anton Popov and Belgian Lance De Cabooter.

The Tour du Faso youngest white jersey holder Driss El Alouani has once again demonstrated pure class of endurance in the 116.8km assignment from Ouagadougou to Yako. He came solo to win the race in a grand style.

Majority of the the 59 riders who signed up for stage 8, developed faults with their bicycles whilst competing in the race and was finding it difficult to catch up with the peloton comprising mainly of Benin, Russia and the host nation Burkina Faso.

In the under 23 category Adil El Arbaoui unfortunately had to relinquish his Green Jersey to Anton Popov of Russia recording an average speed of 44.080km/h and a time of 2h 38min 59seconds.

The intermediate sprint jersey went to Mamyr Stash from Russia with the combativity jersey going to Harouna llboudo.

Mochine El Kouraji still maintains his leader’s jersey. He is still determined to protect the yellow jersey at the end of the Tour Du Faso .

Team Ghana is managing the heated competition with Volta region sensation Emmanuel Sesi still improving each day.
