DR PATRICE MOTSEPE VISIT’S GHANA, SCHEDULED TO MEET PRESIDENT JOHN MAHAMA AT THE SEAT OF GOVERNMENT

The head of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Dr. Patrice Motsepe, arrived in Ghana yesterday on a working tour. As part of the visit, he is scheduled to meet Ghana’s President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama today at the Flagstaff House in Accra.

Dr Motsepe is in Ghana ahead of the CAF Executive Committee meeting billed for April 26, 2025 in Ghana. The meeting will highlight the strong collaboration between African football leadership and national governance, emphasizing football’s crucial role in promoting unity, development, and youth empowerment across the continent.

The meeting at the Flagstaff House will focus on discussions about football development projects, infrastructure investments, and Ghana’s contribution to CAF’s long-term strategic objectives.

However, Dr. Motsepe is expected to outline CAF’s broader plans to advance grassroots football, youth academies, women’s football, and sports governance throughout Africa to Ghana’s leader.

Meanwhile, President Mahama, known for his strong support for sports development, has consistently promoted football as a tool for national unity and economic growth.

His engagement with Dr. Motsepe is viewed as significant, especially as Ghana strengthens its role as a key player in hosting major continental sports events.

Caf president’s visit is seen as part of his broader initiative to build strategic partnerships with political leaders, ensuring that football’s growth is anchored in sustainable national and regional policies. The meeting is also expected to strengthen the bond between Ghana and CAF in relation to football on the continent.
