Ghana’s goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has made a move to join top club side in the Scottish league.
Hibernian FC completed the move to sign the Black Stars goalie on a three(3) year deal. The contract fee for Wollacott’s transfer to Hibernian from Charlton Athletic was not disclosed but it is speculated to be around US$10 million.
The club issued an official statement on its social media handle today, “We are delighted to complete the permanent signing of Ghanaian international Jojo Wollacott!
The goalkeeper joins Hibs from Charlton Athletic for undisclosed terms and has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal.”
Wollacott has since joined his teammates in camp to prepare ahead of the impending season in the Scottish league.
Meanwhile, manager of Hibs FC Lee Johnson has applauded the move in a statement which read, “We are delighted to bring Jojo to the club and I’m looking forward to working with him again.
He’s a player I have known for some time and it’s great to see that he’s starting to fullfil his potential. He now has over 100 games under his belt and has played on the international stage with Ghana.
The statement continued, ” He’s an athletic, brave and confident goalkeeper, and with big competitions coming up, it’s important we are strong in the goalkeeping department.”
Jojo Wollacott came through the Bristol City Academy as a kid, but later moved on to play in the third and fourth tier clubs in the English league. He made twenty (20) league appearances for former club Charlton Athletic.
