THOMAS PARTEY, GRANTED CONDITIONAL BAIL AFTER HE APPEARED IN WESTMINSTER COURT TODAY ON RAPE CASE CHARGES

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, for the first time appeared in court on August 5, 2025 to answer to an alleged rape case charges levelled against him during his playing career at Arsenal football club.

In the company of his lawyers this morning, Thomas Partey was granted conditional bail after being charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The Ghanaian, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Tuesday, to clear his name based on a charged with five counts of rape against two women, and a charge of sexual assault against a third woman.

The alleged offences against the 32-year old midfielder, took place between 2021 and 2022 when he was playing for Arsenal Football Club.

However, the presiding judge at court sitting, granted Partey bail on conditional basis. The bail conditions states that, he cannot contact any of the three women personally or through a third party and must notify police of any permanent changes of address or international travel.

Meanwhile, renowned UK lawyer Jenny Wiltshire, who is representing Thomas Partey has stated that, her client has earlier “denied all the charges against him”, adding he welcomed “the opportunity to finally clear his name”.

The allegations relate to three separate women who reported the incident which took place between 2021 and 2022.

On the other hand, Jaswant Narwal, of the Crown Prosecution Service, had previously said: “The CPS authorised the prosecution of Thomas Partey for multiple counts of rape – after carefully reviewing a comprehensive file of evidence.

“Our prosecutors have worked closely with officers in the Metropolitan Police who have carried out the investigation, to review the evidence and advise on the appropriate charges.

“We remind everyone that criminal proceedings are active, and the defendant has the right to a fair trial”.


The Ghanaian, whose Arsenal contract expired last season was one of the club’s top earners and a key figure in three consecutive title challenges.

Thomas Partey signed for Arsenal in October 2020 from Athletico Madrid and played for five years (2020-2025) for the club.
