Messi Inching Closer to Barcelona Move After Sighted Having Dinner With Ex Teammates

Speculations linking a return of Lionel Messi to his former club-Barcelona this summer was heightened after the player was spotted having dinner with his former teammates in Catalonia on Monday.

The Argentine’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain is expected to expire at the end of the 2022/23 league season.

It is obvious PSG have accepted the fact that Messi will not sign a new deal with the club. Meanwhile, the player and his representatives have plans to go into discussion with Barcelona officials this month in relation to a possible return to his former club.

The PSG forward has spent the last two days in Barcelona and was also spotted at the stadium as fans chanted his name during Barcelona’s 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou on Sunday.

However, before Messi can return to his former club, and for Barcelona to meet the financial regulations, the club must sell players in order to bring in the world cup winner.
