Ghana Win Over Switzerland in an International Friendly

The Black Stars today gave hope to many Ghanaian’s after they recorded an impressive 2-0 win over Euro 2020 semi-finalist Switzerland in an International friendly match ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar this weekend.

Mohamed Salisu got his first international goal for Ghana after he headed home the lead through a corner kick. The continuous dominance of the Stars over the Switz resulted in a beautiful goal when substitute Antoine Semenyo pounced on a loose ball in the penalty box to register his first ever goal for Ghana and the second goal for the Black Stars on the day.

The Red Cross of Switzerland paraded their quality stars who plays in the top European leagues like Jan Sommer, Granit Xhaka, Manuel Akanji, Denis Zakaria, Ruben Vargas, Breel Embolo etc but that did not scare the Stars.

The final preparatory game for Ghana before Black Stars opening game against Portugal next week afforded coach Otto Addo the opportunity to assess some of his players like Antoine Semenyo, Daniel Afriyie, Salisu, Tariq Lamptey, Salis Samed and Kamal Sowah.

The world cup will start on Sunday 20th November with the Black Stars playing their first math on the 24th against Portugal.
