Ghana proved it’s qualities against the Central African Republic when the two sides met in a World Cup qualifiers played on October 8, 2025 in Morocco.

The Black Stars humiliated the Central African Republic (CAR) with a 5-0 scoreline therefore boosting the team’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The players went into the game with the mindset of winning as they began with intense pressing to assert their dominance over C.A.R.

However, Mohammed Salisu opened the scoring in the first half with a well-placed header from a tailored measured corner kick from Mohammed Kudus to break the deadlock.

An improved performance from the stars in the second half, saw Jordan Ayew’s brilliant pass to Thomas Partey who brilliantly put the ball at the back of the net to score Ghana’s 2nd goal.

Further goals from Alexander Djiku’s header, Jordan Ayew’s non-drop shot, and Kamal Sulemana’s connect from Paintsil sealed an emphatic 5-0 away victory for the Black Stars.

The win therefore, put Ghana at the top of Group I with 22 points, followed by Madagascar with 19 points, while Mali and Comoros occupy the third and fourth spots respectively with 15 points each whiles Chad languish at the bottom of the table with just a point.

Ghana will play their final world cup group game against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 12, 2025.
A win or a draw for Ghana will be enough to secure their ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup next year.
