Chris Hughton Make Changes To His Call-Ups For Ghana – C.A.R Final AFCON Game


Coach Chris Hughton has invited a 25-man squad for Ghana’s final AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic on September 7, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion manager made changes to his call-up due to injury concerns to some notable players like Thomas Party, Daniel Amartey, Kamaldeen Suleiman, Majeed Ashimeru, Salisu Mohamed who is now recovering from an injury he sustained after the 2022 Qatar world cup.

Ghana will book a ticket to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire if Black Stars pick up a win or draw against the Central African Republic in the final Group E’ qualifiers on Thursday.

The full list of invited players are as follows;

GOALKEEPERS:
Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Manaaf Nurudeen and Richard Ofori

DEFENDERS:
Alexander Djiku, Joseph Aidoo, Alidou Seidu, Baba Rahman, Gideon Mensah, Nicholas Opoku, Stephen Ambrosius and Kingsley Schindler

MIDFIELDERS:
Abdul Salis Samed, Elisha Owusu, Baba Iddrissu, Andre Ayew(C), Edmund Addo, Mohamed Kudus and Ransford Koningsdorffer.

FORWARDS:
Jonathan Sowah, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Joseph Paintsil, Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah and Osman Bukari.
