Chelsea football club has expressed deep interest to sign Newcastle United top striker, Alexander Isak this summer to boost their attacking options.
According to reports, talks has already been held between Chelsea and the player’s current team to that effect.
Isak who scored 21 Premier League goals for Newcastle Utd last season is seen by Chelsea management as key to solve the attacking deficiencies of the club faced last league season.
The 24-year-old’s impressive goal scoring record was not without an injury-ravaged first season at St James’ Park which saw him restricted to just 22 Premier League appearances and a further five in all competitions.
With his promising talent, Isak, is highly regarded as one of the world’s football best strikers, and the Sweden international has previously been linked with big-money moves to Arsenal and Barcelona.
Meanwhile, according to sources, initial conversations has taken place between Chelsea and Newcastle over a potential summer deal, with the Blues indicating their desire to agree terms.
It is believed that Chelsea would have to cough up in excess of the club-record of £115 million fee paid for defensive midfielder Moises Caicedo last summer, way above the £63 million Newcastle paid Real Sociedad to land Isak in August 2022.
However, Newcastle would want to keep Isak as suggestion for a new contract talks has been discussed – but the club have made it clear that every player has their price, particularly with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules looming large with regards to spending.
The Blue’s desire to add a leading attacker to their ranks, in addition to signing some of the world’s best young players, has been well documented with names like Benjamin Sesko, Jhon Duran, Samu Omorodion, Dominic Solanke and Jonathan David all been considered for the center forward role next season.
