Son Heung-Min has settled in the MLS in USA less than two months after joining from Tottenham Hotspur.
Son has been an instant hit for Los Angeles FC scoring six goals in just seven games. He scored five in his last three outings including a hat trick in a 4-1 win over Real Salt Lake last week.
The former Spurs forward striked a beautiful goal from outside the box off the inside of the post. It was a moment that showcased Son at his best, at a level some feared the South Korean would never come back after a challenging final season at his former club.
Many had believed it was the right time for Son Heung-Min to leave North London. While he’d made himself a Tottenham icon over a long period of time at the club. There were a clear indication last season that the South Korean had reached the end of a cycle. His return of just seven goals was the lowest moment for him since his debut in the Premier League campaign.
The 33-year-old’s game has always been about blistering speed and an explosive desire to attack open space at every possible opportunity. At a point when he was unable to produce those magic moments in his 30s, questions arose about his ability to impact games, the more reasons he left Spurs to Los Angeles FC.
After leaving Spurs, the LAFC has been the biggest beneficiary of what Son can offer paying £20 million for the South Korean in the belief he would elevate their attacking level, making him the most expensive player in MLS history and has since proven that amount in less than two months on.
