GFA Appoint Former Swiss International To Lead Black Queens

The Ghana Football Association has appointed Nora Hauptle as head coach of the senior women national team the Black Queens.

The former Swiss International, is a product of University of Bern where she attained her Master’s in Sports Sciences in addition to a Bachelor of Philosophy and a Minor in Theater Sciences.

Further, the 39 year old coach, hold’s a UEFA Pro License Certificate and has a previous work experience with the Swiss Football Association as an instructor.
She additionally hold’s other Diploma Certificates such as UEFA Mentorship Hope Powell-Brighton and Hove Albion FC, CAS Sports Management-University of St. Gallen and Shalkeh 04, Athletics Coach-Swiss Football Association and Swiss Tennis, Strength and Conditioning coach-Swiss Olympic Team, Swiss Olympic Weightlifting team as well as EXQS Level 1 & FMS and Sailing & Motorboat License.

During her time as a player, she played for BSC Young Boys, FFC Zuchwil 05, FC Twente Enschade, FC Thun and the Swiss national team between 1996 and 2010. From the year 2009 to 2012 she was the coach for FC Thun and later worked as conditioning coach for Tennis player Romina Oprandi.

Nora has also in the past worked with Israeli Football Association as head coach and Women’s Director for the national team. She had a short stay with SC Sand,1946-a German Women’s Bundesliga club.

The experienced coach will be assisted on her job by Joyce Boatey-Agyei who is a Physical Education Tutor and Coach of Kumasi Girls Senior High School and also a former coach of U-15 national team. They will further be supported by Aboagye Dacosta who was a former player for Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Head Coach of Women’s Premier League Club-Ashtown ladies in Kumasi.

Meanwhile, the Black Queens in the coming weeks start preparations towards the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the third edition of the WAFU Zone B’ Women’s Cup of Nations 2023 in March/April this year.
