The Association For Sports Federation On Disability held a forum to engage their members in disability sports, plans the association has for them, and the ways to promote disability sports to attract companies for sponsorship.

Mr. Shaaban Mohammend, the president of ASFOD, in his address said, “the federation is still in existence and cares a lot about the welfare of its members in disability sports.

Hopefully there will be an election next year. Big programmes are ahead of us, and we encourage our members to be active in the game of disability because there are more opportunities in the pipeline that ASFOD will execute to make disability sports better again.”

He further stated “the association will organise the maiden edition of National Disability Day in 2025, which will be the first of its kind in the history of ASFOD.

He added that, the Association for Sports Federation on Disability is committed to supporting the development of disability sports at all levels by saying, “ASFOD seeks to provide guidelines and technical support to its members to achieve laurels for mother Ghana and get a better life.”

However, ASFOD’s aim is to encourage and equip all disabled men and women in the street to discover their talent and join disability sports for the development of disability sports in Ghana. A special mention were made to Mr. SAMUEL OBENG and Mr. THEO VIWOTOR who devoted their time to advance disability sports in Ghana and beyond.

The Forum is in line with the ASFOD corporate social responsibility agenda, which seeks to use disability sports to give hope to the physically challenged people in the country to better their lives.
