Sports and Recreation Minister Hon. Kofi Adams, Extends His Best Wishes To Hearts of Oak And Asante Kotoko In President Cup Showdown.

As the highly anticipated President Cup match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko approaches, Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, extends his best wishes to both teams.

In a heartfelt message, the Member of Parliament for the people of Buem in the Oti Region urged both teams to showcase their skills, dedication, and passion for the beautiful game while maintaining a spirit of fair play and respect for one another.

“May this match be a celebration of Ghana’s rich football heritage and sportsmanship,” Minister Adams said. “Let’s avoid any acts of hooliganism and instead focus on cheering our teams on with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.”

Acknowledging the intense rivalry between the two clubs, Hon. Kofi Adams emphasized the need for fans to refrain from actions that could lead to violence. “We all know the history between these two clubs, but I urge the fans to stay away from any acts of hooliganism,” he emphasized.

The Minister also urged match officials to uphold professionalism during the game, ensuring a fair and disciplined approach. “Let’s all go and watch the game,” he said. “I also urge the referee to be professional on the day, and I hope we will witness a good game.”

The President Cup, scheduled for July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium, promises to be an electrifying encounter, with the winner being crowned champion in the presence of H.E President John Dramani Mahama. If the game ends in a draw, a penalty shootout will be used to determine the winner. Both teams will receive cash prizes, medals, and a trophy for the winner.
