The Head of State of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, on Monday, November 04, 2024 received cyclists who took part in the 35th edition of the Tour Du Faso. Nine countries namely Burkina Faso, Belgium, Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Holland, Mali, Morocco and Russia all took part at this year’s edition of cycling competition.
The Head of State, who according to him, had followed all the different stages of the tour from start to end of the event, praised the good work done at this year’s edition of the Tour du Faso. “We were able to meet the necessary security conditions. I salute to the Defence and Security Forces who have done their best to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Congratulations to the Organizing Committee, which, despite some challenges, were able to show professionalism, from start to end of the competition”.
Captain Ibrahim Traore, took the opportunity to convey his appreciation and congratulations to all the teams from Europe, North Africa, Central Africa and West Africa.
He said, “Thank you for the friendship and brotherhood. From now on you are all Burkina Faso’s ambassadors in your respective zones and countries. You have traveled and traversed the country from east to west, north to south.” He added, “From this moment, Burkina Faso is your home. You will come whenever you want and we will take all measures to facilitate your stay. From now on, it will be like that.”
The representatives of the different teams expressed their appreciation to the President of Burkina Faso for his involvement in the success of the 2024 edition of the Tour Du Faso.
The sporting director of the Dutch team, Alami Marrouni Abdel Ali, praised the quality of the organization, the professionalism of the Defense and Security Forces on the roads of the Tour and the resilience of the Burkinabe people. “Burkina Faso is very accessible. “I personally visited villages with very friendly populations and top-notch security”.
The 35th edition of the Tour Du Faso came to an end on Sunday 04 November, 2024 with the Moroccan Sprinter, Mohcine El Kouraji, declared winner of 35th edition of Tour Du Faso 2024 with the ultimate yellow Jersey.
