Ghana Black Stars coach Chris Hughton has recalled Jojo Wallacot in his 25-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification double-header against Madagascar and Comoros.
The agile goalkeeper has been missing from Chris Hughton’s call-ups as a result of injury concerns. The goalie lost his number one position in the Black Stars post prior to the Qatar 2022 FIFA world cup and has since not played part in any of the games under coach Chris.
However, the under-fire head coach has recalled Wallacot back to the Stars after gaining full recovery and has since resumed training with his club.
Hughton must have doubt in the qualities of Manaaf Nurudeen as a third choice goalkeeper judging from a poor performance displayed by the short stopper in a recent Black Stars international friendly game against the USA where the goalkeeper conceded four goals.
Sources has it that, Wallacot might take his number one spot in post for Ghana ahead of the two World cup qualifiers as a result of Chris Hughton’s trust and confidence he has for the goalkeeper.
