CAF Confirm Date, Venue For Ghana -Angola Tie

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed Venue, Date and Time for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers between the Black Stars of Ghana and their counterpart from Angola.

Black Stars will first host the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, 23rd March 2023 before the team journey to Luanda for the reverse fixture on Monday, 27th March 2023 at Estadio de 11 Novembro at 17hr GMT.

In a related development, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Authority and Ghana Football Association have reached a decision to temporarily close down the Baba Yara Sports Stadium pitch to domestic sports activities until after Black Stars Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.

The decision agreed on by the three parties during the week, was to give the managers of the pitch enough time to improve the quality of the pitch to international standard before the Ghana-Angola encounter.

Meanwhile, the Ghana U-23 team the Black Meteors will also welcome Algeria to the Baba Yara Stadium for the 2nd leg of the last round qualifier of the TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the same venue.
