The Ghana Football Association and it’s legal team led by Lawyer Naa Odofoley failed to appear in Court today.
The Accra High Court gave 30 May, 2023 for both legal leads of Ashgold SC and the GFA to give their closing submissions in relation to their legal plea after which the court will set a date to provide its final judgement on the case.
However, at the court sitting today, representatives of Ashgold SC and the legal team led by Edward Sam Crabbe Esq appeared in court as scheduled, but unfortunately the GFA did not turn up for an unknown reason.
Meanwhile, the presiding judge at the end of court sitting today fixed 12 June, 2023 for both parties (Ashgold and GFA) to appear before it again at the Accra High Court.
In a quick reminder, the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association on 16th May, 2022, gave a decision in relation to Misconduct Charges levelled against Ashgold SC, that resulted in a ban of Officials and Players of the club in respect of it’s 2020/21 Ghana Premier League matchday 34 game between Ashgold SC and Inter Allies played at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Subsequent to that, officials of Ashgold SC led by club owner Kweku Frimpong followed the internal legal processes of the FA, to fight it’s case but felt dissatisfied of the decisions of the Disciplinary and Appeals Committee and later proceeded to the High Court to seek for a proper determination of the matter.
Relative to that, the Ghana Football Association came out with another decision to indefinitely suspend the Miner’s (Ashgold SC) from all GFA programs and its related sporting activities.
