
AFCON : BLACK STARS DISAPPOINT’S GHANAIANS AGAIN, WITH YET ANOTHER DRAWN GAME AGAINST SUDAN IN THE AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS QUALIFIERS

It was just another game of disappointment from the Black Stars, as team, for the third consecutive time has failed to provide the needed results to millions of football fans in the ongoing Nations Cup qualifiers.
Ghana was held to a goalless drawn game by the Falcons of Sudan in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, 2024 after dominating in most part of the match.
Black Stars took total control of the game from the onset, with Alexander Djiku hitting the crossbar with a powerful header in the 4th minute through a precise corner delivery from the captain on the day, Mohammed Kudus.
Ghana’s determination to win, continued when Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo, forced Sudan goalkeeper Mohamed Mustafa Ahmed into a superb save in the 18th minute.
Black Stars made numerous incursions into the goal area of the Sudanese team with Alidu Seidu and Mohammed Kudus, posing as a constant threat to the Falcons defence line throughout the entire game but all failed to yield a positive result.
Sudan however, slowly got into the game by finding an antidote to Ghana’s creativity by making matters difficult for Ghana to breakthrough the hectic and the well organized defence setup of the Sudanese team, culminated with some heroics saves from goalkeeper Mustafa Ahmed.
Expectant Ghanaian fans, who sat on tenterhooks throughout the entire 90 minutes hoping for a goal from the Black Stars to jubilate with, saw the referee blew the final whistle to bring the match to a 0-0 draw score line.
Meanwhile, Black Stars, with just two points from three games, now have a tall mountain to climb ahead of their crucial return fixture on Monday, October 15, 2024 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
Angola currently have 9 points from three games after their defeat to Niger yesterday, followed by Sudan on 4 points and Ghana on 2 points with Niger languishing at the bottom of the table with just 1 point.
