Ghana Black Stars put up a splendid performance last Friday to wallop Chad 5 goals to nil in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Five different players recorded the emphatic 5-0 scoreline over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium to push Ghana to the top-spot of Group I.
Ghana made it’s intentions clear from the early stages of the game and opened the scoring account just a minute into the game through Antoine Semenyo’s close range goal after a scramble in the goal area of Chad.
The opponent team came close a few times to score at certain point of the game and even earned themselves some free kicks which eventually went way ward.
Black Stars came close on two occasions to double their lead, unfortunately Kudus Mohammed had his free kick miss the goal post by inches while Jordan Ayew also blew away few chances in the heat of the game.
In the 31st minute, Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams, connected from Schindler’s cross to head home a beautiful goal to increase Ghana’s goal tally. Five minutes on, Black Stars, captain Jordan Ayew converted a spot-kick to hand Ghana a 3-0 lead after Antoine Semenyo had been fouled in the penalty box.
Meanwhile, during the second half of the game, the Stars returned on a blistering note and made a series of incursions into the goal area of Chad minutes in the resumption of the second quarter of the match, but sadly squandered all the chances that came their way.
However, France-based defender Mohammed Salisu, got Ghana’s fourth goal through a free header in the 56th minute after nodding into the net from Ernest Nuamah’s tailor-made corner kick.
Ernest Nuamah therefore, continued with his blistering scoring form from club side after striking from a one-on-one play with Gideon Mensah and Jordan Ayew to get the fifth goal of the day.
