Lisandro Martinez to Miss Rest of The Season

Lisandro Martinez to Miss Rest of The Season

Manchester United left back Lisandro Martinez is expected to sit on the sidelines for the rest of the season after an assessment was done on his injury.

The Argentine had to be carried off the pitch by some of his compatriots during United’s 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday.

A scan conducted on the player revealed that, Martinez has fractured a metatarsal in his right foot and such injury can take six weeks to several months to recover from and will require surgery.

Martinez season is therefore over and will miss a minimum of 10 games which is more likely to affect United performance looking at the player’s contribution for the club in most of their matches.

The world cup winner’s extended absence will give manager Erik ten Hag yet another starting lineup difficulties because of the qualities Martinez bring to the United setup.
