The absence of Sadio Mane obviously affected Senegal yesterday when the reigning African champions lost to the Netherlands in their first game of the ongoing Fifa World Cup in Qatar.
The Teranga Lions of Senegal were defeated 2-0 by Netherlands in the Group A fixture of 2022 Fifa World Cup on Monday.
Senegal had a blistering start to the game as they fought for every ball and holding possession in most part of the match but finally succumbed to the Dutches in the closing part of game.
Two goals from Gody Gakpo and David Klaassen was all what the Netherlands need to give them hope going into their next match with the likely win to push them to the next stages of the competition.
The battle is now daunting for Senegal as they have to beat Ecuador in their next match as well as Qatar in the final game to book their qualification to the round of 16 in Qatar.
