Ghana Black Stars will miss their top defender in today’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at 4pm in Kumasi.
Mohammed Salisu picked up the injury at club level and that rule’s him out of the first leg clash against the Palancas Negras of Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Black Stars technical team expressed their worry to the media that, “The only concern will be about Mohammed Salisu, there have been some concerns about him in the last few weeks, and He has had some difficulties.
“His club when he played last week, the club have used him sparingly because of that, because of such issues.
“So this is one that we have to consider so he will be the only doubt from the squad that we have and it will be something that we have to think about.” Chris Hughton stated.
Until his injury, the 23 year old defender had been in top form for his club, Southampton and his injury seems to have affected the club’s performance who now lies at the bottom of the premiership.
Ghana have the same points (4 points) from two games with Angola after two games and a win for the Black Stars is a must before the return leg in five days time in Luanda.
