
GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHDAY 20 FIXTURES POSTPONED

The governing body of Ghana Football has postponed the Matchday 20 league fixtures following the violent incidents that occurred between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a league match over the weekend.
The damning incident which led to stabbing and death of a faithful Kotoko fan, have raised concerns about security and discipline within the various league centres in the country.
In a quick response, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has taken a swift action, suspending the matchday 20 league fixtures to allow time for investigations, consultations with key stakeholders, including club officials, security agencies, and football governing bodies.
The league break, will be used to assess the circumstances surrounding the incident and to put proper measures in place to prevent future occurrences.
According to FA, they remain committed to improving the football experience in Ghana and ensuring that stadiums remain safe for players, officials, and fans alike.
Meanwhile, the GFA has vowed to sanction decisively with those responsible for the unfortunate incident, sending a strong message that such behaviour will not be countenance.
An investigations has so far begun to search for the perpetrators of the violence that occurred.
The GFA has therefore, given its assurance to lovers of the game that, they are fully committed to making the game better and safer for football fans to enjoy and should be assured of their safety at game venues.
