Ghana’s star-boy Mohammed Kudus, has allayed the fear of many Ghanaian football fans by giving them hope and confidence that, Ghana will not be a push over when the Black Stars come face-to-face with England in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Kudus being cautious in a post march interview said, the Black Stars are very much aware of England’s quality going into the 2026 FIFA World Cup but are poised to march the Three-Lions boot-to-boot at the tournament.

Ghana was drawn in the same Group L’ with England alongside Croatia, Panama in a FIFA World Cup draw held on December 5, 2025 in the USA. This becomes the Black Stars fifth appearance at the World Cup and their first time of meeting England at the Mundial and the second time both countries are facing each other in a battle many has termed as a David and Goliath affair.

Judging by the strength of England and with top players Saka, Eze, Harry Kane, Grealish, Jude Bellingham, Pickford, Decline Rice and many others, won’t come as an easy game for Ghana, but Kudus still believe that the Black Stars will be ready for all these top stars and boldly reveals, Ghana knows their quality and are ready for them.

“To qualify alone to the World cup is a big statement from us(Black Stars) and it shows what we can do. There is a bit of time, so we just focus here for now.
“It’s good to have England in the group”.
The Tottenham Hotspur forward added; “We fully understand the team we will be up against and their quality. We will be ready for it. Myself and other players play with most of them here, so we know what they can do.”

Ghana will play their 2nd Group L’ game against England on June 23, 2026 in Boston, USA after facing Panama on June 18, in Toronto, Canada and play their final group match against Croatia on June 27, 2026 in Philadelphia.
Ghana has previously shined against top ranked football countries like Serbia, Czech Republic, Germany and USA at the World Cup in the past and meeting England this time round will not be an exception.

With names such as Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Thomas Partey. Mohammed Salisu Fatawu Issahaku and Jordan Ayew the Black Stars will not go to the tournament to add up to the numbers but to do better than their last World Cup appearance.
