Kumasi Asante Kotoko has reappointed it’s former coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum to lead the club ones again to the glory land.
His Royal Highness, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Thursday at Manhyia Palace tasked former Black Stars coach and currently Kotoko technical director James Kwesi Appiah to earnestly look for a coach to steer the affairs of the club for the up coming league season.
Relative to that, Precisewebgh can confirm that, Manhyia Palace did not hesitate to Kwesi Appiah’s choice and nomination of Dr Narteh Ogum afterwards and went ahead to make a pronouncement of his appointment last night.
Dr. Prosper Ogum left the Porcupine club when the 2021/22 season ended after leading them to the Premier League title triumph for the first time in eight years.
Issues of Dr Ogum’s departure from Kotoko was linked to conflicts and power play between him and the then management team led by Nana Yaw Amponsah. Coach Narteh Ogum was subsequently replaced with Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo, who took charge of the club in three major competitions, including the Ghana Premier League, CAF Champions League and the MTN FA Cup in which the club failed to glitter in the competitions.
Dr. Ogum’s immediate task will be to lead the club in it’s recruitment process and pre-season training programs ahead of the 2023/2024 league season to ensure the club rediscover it’s past glory in Ghana and Africa.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness is expected to make a pronouncement in the coming days of the appointment of a new executive board chairman to guide the direction of Kotoko family before the commencement of the league season in September.
