During the Court proceedings on Monday, 8th May, 2023, His Lordship, sitting on the case granted an earlier plea of the Ashgold lawyer to cross-examin the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association Prosper Harrison Addo Esq as a key witness of the Football Association. According to sources close to this online portal, the legal representative of Ashgold SC Edward Sam Crabbe grilled Mr Harrison Addo during the cross examination processes that gave hope that the case is likely to tilt in favor of the Applicant (Ashgold SC).
Meanwhile, the Accra High Court has set 30th May, 2023 for the Council’s on both sides (Ashgold SC and GFA) to give their closing submissions on the case before it after which the court will fix a date to give it’s judgement on the case.
Lead Complainant and financier of Ashgold SC Dr Kweku Frimpong was not available in court on Monday 8th for personal reasons but was duly represented in court.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association on 16th May, 2022, gave it’s decision in relation to Misconduct Charges levelled against Ashgold SC, it’s Officials and Players in respect of it’s 2020/21 Ghana Premier League matchday 34 game against Inter Allies at the Len Clay Stadium. Afterwards, officials of the club (Ashgold) went through the internal process of the FA, to fight it’s case but felt dissatisfied of the Disciplinary and Appeals Committee decisions and therefore resorted to the High Court for a proper determination of the matter.
